What an opening weekend to the 2013 6 Nations

The 6 Nations rugby tournament kicked off with a bang!

Wales v Ireland was a game of two halves with the Irish totally dominating the first half and ultimately leaving too much for Wales to do in the second half, whilst Wales give it everything in the second half and but for an awesome Irish defence and great play by BOD, might have pegged back the massive fist half lead but ultimately it was too little to late for Wales.

England had an easier affair against Scotland running in 4 tries versus 2 from Scotland and dominating the kicking game with Farrell scoring 18 points from the boot, with a man of the match performance.

Surprise result of the opening weekend was Italy beating many peoples pre tournament favourites France at home on Sunday. The Azzuri beat France 23 – 18 and looked good against the French with a usual stand out performance from Captain Parisse with a great early try. The Italian team have now beaten France twice in a row at home.

The Six Nations tournament is now on fire and it is looking interesting for both Ireland & England.

The season finale on the 16th of March, where Wales play England is looking likely to have some great significance (for the England team at least).
