England RFU are going for their 7th Grand Slam this weekend

England could secure their 7th Rugby Union Grand Slam on Saturday March the 16th in their match against Wales.

They have so far managed 6 in 1957, 1980, 1991, 1992, 1995 and 2003 only 1 so far since the tournament turned in to the Six Nations from the long running 5 Nations tournament.

They were recently denied a Slam by Ireland in 2011 and famously Wales in 1999 at Wembley whilst the millennium stadium was being built.

They were also denied slams in 2000 by Scotland and Ireland in 2001.

Will they make it lucky slam number 7 on Saturday?

If you want ring side seats in the Stadium please take a look at our Wales v England Rugby Hospitality packages which all come with the much sought after Wales v England match tickets.

Ryan Jones is out of Wales v England on Saturday

Welsh Rugby News

Stand in skipper Ryan Jones, who took over the captaincy (again) when New skipper Sam Warburton got injured earlier in the tournament, has himself got injured and will miss the big Six Nations clash against England on Saturday.

Whoever leads the Welsh team out at the Millennium Stadium will be leading a Welsh team fired up to put one over on the old enemy as well as spoiling the party and even potentially running off with the silverware.

The captaincy could revert back to Sam Warburton or might go to other contenders like Alun Wyn Jones.
